ANZAC Day – Flem/Ken RSL Dawn Service – 25th April 2018

The group is planning to participate in the Dawn Service held by the Flemington/Kensington RSL. The commemoration starts with a march from the RSL in Rankins Road to the cenotaph on Racecourse Road opposite Safeway. We have been invited to lay a wreath at the service.

The service at the cenotaph starts at 6am and the march from the RSL will set off around 5:45 am.

Everyone is welcome back to our hall for breakfast following the service. Thanks to Richard Lambert for volunteering to cook the breakfast whilst we attend the service. To assist Richard in planning, could you please RSVP via this Try Booking link if you plan to attend:

This is a good opportunity for our members to understand the importance of the day. It is also a component of Citizenship for the Scouts or part of the Their Service, Our Heritage badge.

Dress Code

The Scout Association place a very high importance on appropriate respect for the occasion and request that we adhere to the following guidelines regarding uniform:

  • Scout Shirt & Scarf – Please ensure the scarf is well rolled and neat.
  • Pants or Skirt – Plain black, navy blue or beige – no patterns
  • Polished Shoes – this is ideal. However, if not available please select the most subdued plain shoes available.
  • Absolutely no jeans or torn clothing.
