Moonee Valley District Scouts’ Snow camp will be held 9-11th September 2016 at Mt Baw Baw.
We have been successful in booking the Rover Lodge, WF Waters Lodge, which is on-snow.
WF Waters Lodge is located close to the Day car park. The lodge contains shared kitchen, bathrooms, lounge, and drying room facilities along accommodation for 36 Scouts and leaders.
Guests are required to provide their own bedding (pillows, sleeping bag and towels).
There will be a maximum of 36 bookings.
The accommodation cost is $100 (for Friday & Saturday night) and is being collected now to secure our booking.
NOTE:
- On top of the accommodation cost there will be food and activity costs of approximately $40 plus a share of the driver’s costs in transporting Scouts to the snowfields.
- Each Scout/leader will be expected to separately pay a pro-rata share of the driver’s costs in transporting them to the snowfields. This will include anti-freeze, chain hire, car parking, resort pass and petrol.
- Each skier will be required to separately pay for any snow equipment they hire and lift tickets. BawBaw has an efficient on mountain ski hire located 100m from the lodge. There are t-bars to lift skiers and snow-boarders to the highest points of the mountain.
- The trip cannot be made cheaper because we are passing on to you costs charged by others. Savings may be possible by sharing toboggans, hiring only the essentials, and not skiing if the weather is really bad. The downhill skiers and board riders will require lift tickets and their gear cannot be shared because it is matched to height, weight, and experience. The XC skiers and snow walkers do not require lift tickets.
