Wine Drive – 2018

 It’s on again!

Thanks, once again, to the support of Parkhill Cellars in North Melbourne, we are pleased to offer this great selection of wines for the Festive Season and summer.

Food Truck Shiraz 2016,  55% McLaren Vale, 30% Lower Murray, 15% Fleurieu Peninsula

Vivid red / purple in colour with an expansive nose of blackberries, blood plums and chocolatey oak. The palate is opulent and inviting with dark plum and blackcurrant fruit flavours matched by dried herbs, cloves and subtle spicy oak. Fine-grained savoury tannins provide definition to the impressively long finish. This powerful but well balanced wine is very approachable now but will gain character and complexity for up to ten years cellaring. $15  per bottle. $170 for cases of twelve.

Ryder Watervale Riesling 2017, Clare Valley SA

Watervale is a district renowned for producing premium wines for over 50 years and our elevated vineyard is in the heart of this region. The elevated St Clare Vineyard has rich red loam over deep limestone to produce this distinctive Watervale Riesling. Aroma and Palate Lifted floral aromas with a delicate palate of zesty lemon and lime followed by a crisp acid finish. $15.50 per bottle. $170 for cases of twelve.

Love Bug Prosecco, King Valley VIC

Prosecco is a sparkling white wine, indigenous to the Veneto region in Italy’s north east and is made from the Prosecco grape. It’s a delicious alternative and a great summer aperitif. Our Love Bug Prosecco is sourced from Victoria’s King Valley, Australia’s pioneer region of Prosecco. $17 per bottle. $185 for cases of twelve.

Days of Rose 2017, SA

A very pretty, dry rose style from South Australia. Bright fruits of strawberry and raspberries with notes of rose petal and other florals. Clean and fresh style. $16 per bottle. $180 for cases of twelve

Bleeding Heart Sauvignon Blanc 2017, McLaren Vale SA

Bleeding Heart Wine was born from a shared passion in the wines and vineyards of South Australia. The ancient soils and moderate climate create rich and full bodied wines that are incredibly satisfying. Crisp, clean and light on its feet with hints of gooseberry and citrus leaning down the palate to the crisp dry finish. $15  per bottle. $170 for cases of twelve.

District Camp – The Pines

DSC05178 DSC05174Once again District Camp at the Pines was lots of fun with all sorts of activities.  Who know you could play full size Foosball, shoot marshmallows out of a gun or flush poo down a pipe??????

Its great to see the cubs having such a great time camping under canvas (even if they chose not to sleep!!).

Thanks to all the leaders and parent helpers who made it so much fun.

Canoe Night – Essendon

6th Melbourne Cub Scouts were lucky enough to be able to enjoy a great Canoe night on the Maribyrnong River. Under the guidance of our great instructors, we managed to “Raft Up” and swing our raft through a full circle.

A lot of fun was had by all, and some ended up wetter than others.

Thanks to our great instructors Trevor Kinsey, Dale Hamilton and Steve Burns.

Pack Holiday – Planet Rowallan

DSC04433Having crash landed on Planet Rowallan, the pack had to complete a number of activities in order to survive until they were rescued. We managed to work out how we could propel ourselves back to earth, found some interesting planetary food and discovered that the atmosphere on planet Rowallan was much like earth and the air breathable. A great time was had by all.

Thanks to our parent helpers Sarah, Gill, Georgina, Philip and Alex for the great work in and out of the kitchen.

Cuboree – September 2014

This year 6th Melbourne Cub Pack was very happy to join with 1st New Gibson and 15th Essendon Cub Pack to form Cuboree Pack 107.  Leading up to Cuboree the cubs form the three groups got to know each other on two separate occasions. The cubs enjoyed an afternoon and night of fun on a sleepover at 6th Melbourne Hall. On the 13th September 22 cubs joined up at Days Picnic Ground for a wonderful and energetic 8.5km walk through the bush around Mt Macedon.

The fun really began on the 29th September when 37 Cubs, 8 leaders and 3 parent helpers all boarded the bus bound for Cuboree Camp 107, Gilwell Park, Gembrook. That was just the start of 5 days of fun, excitement, mud, games, experiences and new friends. Great Activities, from Time Lords, Robin Da Hood, Cherry Lane, Scouts and Beyond, Far Far Away, Never Never , Six Sences and much much more.

What a great week!! Thanks to all involved from Scout and Venturer volunteers, to parent helpers who assisted with camp setup and our three parent helpers who cooked for us (Dean, Philip and Fiona). A great week was enjoyed by all.
